PLUMPTON PANTOMIME SOCIETY IS AFFILIATED TO NODA

26 Years of Pantomime in Plumpton

In 1975, at the suggestion of the local bobby, PC Dave Wickham, `Puss in Boots' was performed in the old Village Hall by a group of friends, led by Gill Wells. The show was staged by Plumpton Parents, Teachers and Friends Association (PPTFA) to say "thank you" to the villagers for their support of the PPTFA in raising money to help build the school swimming pool. The show was a great success and became an annual event. In 1981 the Pantomime Society was formed and has gone from strength to strength.

Over the years all the favourite pantos have been performed and it wasn't until 1991 that the first repeat appeared.

Over one hundred members, ex-members, and their guests, attended the reunion party held at the racecourse. Many OLD faces were present, including: Dave & Cynthia Wickham - Gill & Fred Wells - Dorothy Griffin - June & Dave Milton - Bob Taylor & the 'not so old' Jo Taylor - Gill & Peter Pratt - Pat Lanaway - Chris Higgins - Heather Pearce - Margaret Bradley - Tony & Jane Cornford - Pat Rozental & family, from Belgium - Valerie & Jim Symes (who did not wear fancy dress - Jim was heard to say " I am always in fancy dress")

The evening included dancing to a live band, a grand meal and a celebration cake decorated with the Plumpton Pantomime Horse. All agreed it was a great 'DO'.
